OIC – China Launch Second Round of Political Consultations

At the invitation from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a high-level delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will be flying to the People’s Republic of China for an official one-week-long visit, as a second round of political consultations between the two parties within the framework of their agreed mechanism.

The OIC delegation will undertake consultations with Chinese officials on relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Islamic World. The consultations will also include a review of developments in the Middle East region, foremost of which those concerning the cause of Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and Arab-Israeli Conflict. Discussion items will also include the current situation in the Middle East and North Africa as well as in Afghanistan along with the situation of the Muslim Countries and minorities outside the OIC Member States, the issue of human rights, Islamophobia, and combating terrorism and violent extremism.

The two sides will also review scopes of cooperation in the fields of science, technology, culture and development projects in the least developed among the OIC countries.

The OIC delegation, led by Ambassador Yousef AL-Dhabei, Advisor to the Secretary General on political affairs, will include officials from the OIC departments of political affairs, Muslim communities and minorities, dialogue and outreach, and information
