The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, expressed his sincere condolences on the death of Pope Francis.
The Secretary-General praised Pope Francis’ religious active role in promoting interfaith dialogue and defending the most vulnerable groups in societies.
The Secretary-General stressed that the death of Pope Francis represents a loss to the whole world, as he was a defender of humanitarian causes and the principles of tolerance and coexistence.
He added that the late Pope took courageous positions calling for peace and opposing Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, especially in the Gaza Strip.c
