Md Shafiqur Rahman, Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal, called on the Foreign Secretary of Nepal, Amrit Bahadur Rai, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
The Ambassador conveyed greetings from the Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh and thanked him for the meeting. They discussed and exchanged views on issues of mutual interests. The Ambassador commended the existing bonds of friendship between the two countries—both at the government level and at the private sectors among the trades and businesses. He noted the increasing level of engagement between peoples of the two countries and commented that this growing contact could be utilized to boost the trade and economic collaboration for mutual benefits of the two countries.
The Foreign Secretary congratulated and welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador to Nepal. Foreign Secretary thanked the Bangladesh government for facilitating higher studies of the Nepali students in Bangladesh especially in the medical sciences. He appreciated the gesture of the government in building Buddhist Monastery in Lumbini.
The Foreign Secretary assured his government’s full support to the Ambassador in delivering his services and wished a successful tenure. Both sides expressed readiness to work together and reiterated their commitment to elevate the Bangladesh-Nepal collaboration to new heights.
