A Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed into the Milestone School and College campus in the Diabari area of Uttara, Dhaka, this afternoon, resulting in at least one fatality and numerous injuries. The tragic incident occurred around 1:30 PM today, July 21, 2025, causing significant damage and a fire on the campus.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has confirmed the crash of the training aircraft. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the plane go down within the college premises, hitting a building and bursting into flames following an explosion. One student who witnessed the crash stated that the aircraft first struck one building before crashing into another.

Emergency services, including personnel from the Bangladesh Army and at least eight units from the Fire Service and Civil Defence, rushed to the scene to conduct rescue operations and extinguish the fire.

Scores of injured individuals, including many students with burn injuries, have been rushed to several hospitals in the capital for treatment.

According to reports, around 45 people with burn injuries were admitted to the National Institute of Burn & Plastic Surgery, while others were taken to the emergency departments of various hospitals in Uttara, the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and Bangladesh Medical College Hospital. The fire service has confirmed the death of at least one person.

The loss and damage sustained by the air force personnel, as well as the students, guardians, teachers, and staff of Milestone School and College, are immense, marking a moment of deep sorrow for the nation.
