Bangladesh Embassy in Algiers Opens Condolence Book for the Victims of Aircraft Crash in Milestone School, Dhaka – Algerian Government signed expressing its profound condolences .

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Algiers opened a condolence book today at its premises to honor the memory of those who tragically lost their lives in the crash of a training aircraft at Milestone School and College campus in Diabari, Uttara, Dhaka on 21 July 2025. The accident claimed multiple lives, including innocent school-going children, and has deeply shocked the nation.

H.E. Mr. Laïd Rebiga, Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, visited the Embassy and signed the condolence book on behalf of the Algerian Government. He conveyed his profound condolences to the Government and people of Bangladesh and expressed Algeria’s solidarity in this time of mourning. He also conveyed that the Algerian people are praying to the Almighty to grant mercy to the victims, bestow them eternal peace, and confer patience and solace upon their families.

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, Director General (Asia-Oceania) Ambassador Abdelmalek Bouheddou also visited the Embassy to pay their respects. Throughout the day, numerous members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Algeria, including Ambassadors, Chargés d’Affaires a.i., and senior diplomats representing countries from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, as well as representatives from some political parties visited the Embassy to sign the condolence book and offer their messages of sympathy and support.

In his conversations, the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Algeria H.E. Md. Najmul Huda expressed his sincere appreciation for the outpouring of condolences and solidarity. He stated that we are deeply touched by the presence of so many friends from the Algerian government and the international diplomatic community. Their words and gestures brought comfort and courage to the people of Bangladesh in these hours of grief, he added.

Earlier, the Embassy observed a day of state mourning on 22 July 2025 following the tragic accident that took many innocent lives away, and arranged special prayers for the eternal peace of the departed souls and for the swift recovery of the injured.
