JCI Dhaka Central in collaboration with SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh organized a Round Table Discussion.

Children who are raised in a family/ family like environment are to be better prepared and responsible and mainstreamed adults both economicallyand socially. Therefore,it’s our individual and collective responsibility to find ways to ensure that children who have lost parental care or at risk of losing parental care receive equal opportunities and chance to realize their own potential by being raised in a family like environment.

Keep in this vital issue in mind, JCI Dhaka central in collaboration with SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh has organized a round table discussion on ” The Role of Family like Care for Parentless and Vulnerable Children”on Thursday 19thSeptember at the National Office of SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh. This event was supported by JCI Dhaka United and JCI Dhaka Achievers. Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Ishaque, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh delivered the welcome speech and chaired the discussion.Dr. Md. Enamul Haque, Deputy National Director, Ms. Chaina Rani Shaha, Director & Child Safeguarding Focal Person and Md. Saiful Islam, Project Director were the panelist from SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh. Barrister Shahedul Azam, Advocate Supreme Court,Ms. Tasneem Huq, Deputy Manager, Talent Management ,Human Resources and Learning Division  at  BRAC Centre,Ms. ZiniaJesmin Karim, Early Childhood Specialist, Rainbow Valley were the Panelist from JCI Dhaka United. The session was moderated by Mr. Erfan Haque, Assistant Director- IPD, SOS Children’s Village International in Bangladesh, 2019 National Secretary General, JCI Bangladesh

The panelist from SOS Bangladesh discussed about the unique model of SOS Family Care as a form of Alternative Care emphasizing the implementation the child safeguarding measure and procedures in line with the Child Protection Policy of SOS. The Panelists from JCI highlighted their various activities for the parentless and vulnerable children. Through the discussion both organization out lined the opportunities and potentials of collaborative work in future for the children under alternative care in Bangladesh.

JCI Bangladesh and Members of JCI Achievers, JCI enteral, JCI United were present during the session.
