25 OIC Member States are scheduled to submit their pleadings during the public hearings held by the International Court of Justice.

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, will lead a delegation from the OIC General Secretariat heading to the Hague to participate in submitting the OIC oral proceedings before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on 26 February 2024, as the ICJ is expected to render an advisory opinion at the request of the United Nations General Assembly on the legal consequences arising from the Israeli occupation and Israel’s continued violation of the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, and from its prolonged occupation of the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem.

It should be noted that the OIC had submitted a written legal pleading to the ICJ on 25 July 2023, as well as comments on the pleadings submitted to the Court by states and other international organizations on 25 October 2023, confirming the illegitimacy of the Israeli occupation and its policies based on colonial settlement, forced displacement, racial discrimination, confiscation of lands, and demolition of Palestinian homes, in flagrant violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

25 OIC Member States are scheduled to submit their pleadings during the public hearings held by the International Court of Justice throughout the period from 19 to 26 February 2024.
