The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its deep concern over the military developments and tension that have prevailed in the region for some days, calling for action to stop the escalation and for self-restraint.
It warned about the dangerous implications of any act that could exacerbate tension for the security and stability of the entire region.
It also called on the Security Council to assume its responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security and to avoid growing tension in the region.
It called on the international community to work towards settling the perennial issue in the region, notably the Palestinian question, and stopping Israeli aggression on Gaza
