OIC Holds a Major Symposium on 26 November in Jeddah

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold a major symposium entitled “Prospects for joint Islamic action”, to be moderated by Ambassador Saud Katib, Undersecretary for  Public Diplomacy Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The event, which forms part of the festivities on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the OIC, will take place at Laylati Hall, Jeddah, at 6 pm on Tuesday, 26/11/ 2019, as part of the activities of the third OIC festival, hosted by Saudi Arabia. The festival will feature various activities addressing different audiences.
The symposium will cover four themes. At the political level, Dr. Walid Al-Sudairy will present a paper entitled: “OIC: the Challenges in a transforming world order”, while Ambassador Noureddine Satti will participate with a paper on “Mechanisms for promoting joint political action”. Dr. Hassan Abdeen will contribute a paper entitled: “Muslim communities and minorities between inclusion and exclusion”.
At the economic level, Dr. Walid Abdel Wahab will talk about   “Investment and development in the Islamic world: stakes and challenges”. Humanitarian action will be addressed by Mr. Mustapha Younes Maihaja,  who will talk about “Humanitarian action in the Islamic world: reality and expectations”. Finally, Dr. Najib Al Ghiati, will cover cultural theme in a paper entitled: “Dialogue with the other within cultural diplomacy”.
