OIC Secretary General Expresses Sorrow at Loss of Lives in Mozambique Due to Tropical Storm

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, has expressed his deep sorrow and distress at the loss of nineteen (19) lives in Mozambique and the cutting off electricity and communications of more than 500.000 residents in the port city of Beira, after tropical storm Idai swept away bridges and homes on Thursday, 14 March 2019.

Dr. Al-Othaimeen expressed his sympathies to the Government of Mozambique and the bereaved families and prayed to Almighty Allah to give them the strength to overcome the loss.

He also expressed the hope that OIC Member States would provide urgent support to the people pf Mozambique in confronting these devastating effects and reducing the sufferings of the affected regions.
