Bangladesh Embassy in Seoul organized a ‘Pitha o kobitapatherasor’

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul organized a ‘Pitha o kobitapatherasor’ (exhibition of Bangladeshi rice cakes and Recitation of Poems) at the Embassy premises on 02 February 2020,with great fervor and festivity. The expatriate Bangladeshis as well as the Korean nationals including the family members of the officials of the Embassy were present at the event and spontaneously recited poems and rendered Bangla songs. Different publications on the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and on the Liberation War of Bangladesh including novels of Bangla literaturewere exhibited during the event.

In her introductory remarks, Ambassador Abida Islam, welcomed the invited guests and highlighted the importance of the pithautsav, a popular event in the rich culinary culture of Bangladesh. She also underlined that the event is designed to present the Bengali literature and culture to the Korean people which will be instrumental in increasing people to people contact as well as strengthening the bilateral relations between the two nations.

The guests were entertained with different types of delicious pithas which were deeply appreciated by the Korean Guests and members of the Bangladesh Community.
