Bangladesh Embassy, Tokyo pay tribute to Bangabandhu on the National Mourning Day-2018.

Bangladesh Embassy in Japan today (15-08-2018) observed the National Mourning Day – 2018 and the 43rd death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a respectful and solemn manner to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation. The program was organized in two parts.

The first part began in the morning at the premise of the Embassy while the national flag was hoisted half-mast. All the officials of the embassy and members of expatriate Bangladeshi community in Japan were present on the occasion.

To mark the day and pay homage to the memory of the greatest son of Bangladesh, one-minute silence was observed followed by the special prayer for the peace and salvation of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his family members.

An open discussion also took place at the Bangabandhu Auditorium on the vision and life of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman – the visionary leader of Bangladesh.

During the discussion the memory of Bangabandhu and his contribution toward an independent Bangladesh and on the significance of the Mourning Day was highlighted by the Ambassador of Bangladesh, Japanese guests and Bangladeshi expatriates. Mr. Shogo Yoshitake – Director, South-West Asia Division of Foreign Ministry of Japan was present on the occasion. He recalled the memory of Bangabandhu and emphasized on the bilateral relation between Japan and Bangladesh.  A video documentary on the life of Bangabandhu was also screened at the program.
