Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Harsh Vardhan Shringla on Sunday said Bangabandhu was one of the most influential and courageous leaders of twentieth century. He championed the cause of democracy, secularism and social justice throughout his life time. His sacrifice for Bangladesh continues to be a source of inspiration for millions of people all over the world.
Bangabandhu was a great friend of India. He was committed to strengthening the relations between our two countries. He is revered as much by the people of India as he is by the people of Bangladesh.
He added that ,It is a great privilege to have the opportunity to pay homage to the architect of Bangladesh.
In Tungipara, we have implemented an energy efficiency project by the Energy Efficiency Services Limited of India.
As the Bangladesh’s economy is growing, there is an increased demand of electricity. We need to save electricity by using modern technology.
In Tungipara you can see it is already being done by using LED bulbs by the municipal corporation. The project has already been completed.
Shringla said, I will see the project implementation by myself today. I thank the Mayor, officials of Tungipara municipal corporation and Govt of Bangladesh for their assistance in implementing the project.
