Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh appoints “Supporter for Cultural Exchanges

Embassy of Japan has appointed Japan-Bangladesh origin Ms. Maya Kazi, a television personality of Japan as “Supporter for Cultural Exchanges of Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh”.Ms. Maya Kazi is also known as an essayist on art and culture of Japanese medieval age.

At the onset of her activity, Ms. Kazi gave lectures titled “Japanese Arts and Culture in Edo Period: Decipher Medieval Japanese Life and Culture from Ukiyo-e” on 24 and 25 February at Jahangirnagar University as well as University of Dhaka respectively. She will voluntarily work as Supporter for Cultural Exchanges of Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh and her tenure will be from 23 Feb 2019 to 31 March 2020.

‘I am honored to be a cultural bridge between my two countries. 2022 will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relation between Japan and Bangladesh.Towards this celebration, I would like to inspire more Bangladeshi people to know about Japan, as well as to help Japanese people know more about Bangladeshi culture.’, she says.
