The fourth round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between Bangladesh and Turkey will be held soon – BD Foreign Minister.

H.E. Mr. Ramis Sen, Ambassador of Turkey to Bangladesh made his courtesy call on  Foreign Minister today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the call on the Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction over the current state of relations and celebration of 50 years of the establishment of our diplomatic relations with Turkey. The Foreign Minister thanked the President and the Foreign Minister of Turkey for their congratulatory letters sent to the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh after the elections in January 2024.

The Minister emphasized the importance of holding regular political consultations and expressed hope that the 4th round of Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) between the two countries will be held soon. The Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction at the recent increase in bilateral trade and stressed working towards further increasing the volume of bilateral trade. The Foreign Minister mentioned that the current state of defense cooperation between the two countries is very promising and suggested that both sides should explore more areas of defense cooperation. He thanked Ankara for the solidarity and support at ICJ on the Rohingya issue and expressed his hope that Türkiye will continue to stand by Bangladesh on the issue of Rohingyas in all international forums. The Minister assured the Ambassador would receive full cooperation during his tenure and expressed hope that bilateral relations between the two countries will further strengthen in the coming days.
