The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, on 27 September 2019 at the New York-based UN headquarters met Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
In their talks, the two parties spoke highly of the OIC-UN relations, stressing keenness to boost cooperation in various fields and to strengthen consultation mechanisms on all issues of shared interest.
Focus during talks was also the principles and values that have always been foundational to both organizations, chiefly the peace and security of the world, tolerance, as well as anti-hate, anti-extremism and counterterrorism efforts.
