Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged to stop the senseless arms race and divert the resources instead to mobilize the much-needed funds for fighting climate change, at the 2024 Munich Security Conference’s Panel Discussion “From Pocket to Planet: Scaling Up Climate Finance” on 16 February 2024. She also highlighted the Bangladesh government’s adaptation plans and programs as well as mitigation efforts, including increased emphasis on renewable energy generation and greening the economy to offset climate change vulnerability.
Special Presidential Envoy for Climate of USA H.E. John Kerry, Prime Minister of Barbados H.E. Mia Mottley and Foreign Minister of Maldives H.E. Moosa Zameer also joined the Panel Discussion with the Prime Minister.
